On Tuesday 7 May 2019, Particulars of Claim were served on BHP in London stemming from Brazil’s worst ever environmental disaster – the collapse in 2015 of the Fundão tailings dam at an iron ore mine in Mariana.
The multi-billion pound claim alleges that BHP’s parent companies bear responsibility for the collapse and the ensuing devastation.
